38 Bible Verses on Healing

In the Kingdom of God, we have been given the supernatural and profound power of healing—a divine gift emphasizing our role as rulers to establish God’s heavenly kingdom on earth (Matthew 10:1; Luke 9:1-2). When we look at the ministry of Jesus, we discover healing at its core. He was given power and authority over sickness, and our faith in him as citizens of His kingdom gives us access to this power (Matthew 8:16; Mark 6:56).

Faith was the essential ingredient in Jesus’ healing ministry (Matthew 9:22), enabling the blind to see, the disabled to walk, and the sick to be restored. We inherit this legacy of healing power through the Holy Spirit indwelling within us, accompanied by our faith in Jesus. Our responsibility is to actively use this power when, through faith, we petition God for restoration (Jeremiah 17:14, Matthew 21:22). Reciting healing verses aligns our hearts with His will, and allows us to be used as vessels for God’s healing to take place on earth.

Acknowledging that sickness often has spiritual roots, we are called to cast out demonic forces causing affliction (Mark 16:17). In doing so, we actively participate in the spiritual battle against the forces of darkness, ushering in healing and restoration.

As we engage in this ministry of healing, we hold onto the promises of God—promises of restoration (Jeremiah 30:17), peace (Philippians 4:7), and overall well-being (3 John 1:2). These promises serve as our foundation, affirming that our petitions for healing are rooted in the comprehensive goodness of God.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we, as kingdom citizens, continue the healing ministry initiated by Jesus. Through unwavering faith, persistent prayer, and a deep understanding of the promises embedded in His Word, we actively contribute to the manifestation of God’s healing grace in the lives of those who seek restoration.

Being a healer in God’s kingdom is part of our identity. The Holy Spirit empowers us to bring restoration, both spiritually and physically, here on the earth. In order to be effective in using this power, it is crucial we understand the biblical teaching on how our faith allows the manifestation of the kingdom of God through the healing process. Let’s look at passages that support this idea.
