33 Characteristics of the Kingdom 

The Kingdom of God is a common theme throughout the Bible, serving as the central message in both the Old and New Testaments. Venturing into the characteristics of the kingdom is essential for a deeper understanding of Scripture, as it explains the nature of God’s rule and discloses His divine plan for humanity—to extend His heavenly kingdom to earth, where humans are called to rule and have dominion. Now, let’s explore the key characteristics that define the kingdom.

  1. God is King (Psalms 47:7). 
  2. God has a kingdom, known as the kingdom of God, where He reigns over everything (Luke 4:43, Psalms 22:28). 
  3. God’s kingdom is often referred to as the kingdom of heaven—the location where God reigns (Matthew 13:31, Psalms 103:19). 
  4. The kingdom of God is not confined to a physical location but is an invisible spiritual realm (Luke 17:20-21, John 18:36, ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭18).  
  5. The kingdom is the main subject throughout the Bible (2 Samuel 7:16, Matthew 3:1-2, Luke 12:32, Revelation 5:10).
